(In Other Sports) Ronda Rousey has been put on a 45 day medical suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission following a knockout loss last week in UFC 207.
It only took Amanda Nunes 48 seconds to defeat the former women’s bantamweight champion.
Rousey was making her anticipated comeback to fighting since surrendering the bantamweight title in a loss to Holly Holm in November 2015.
Nunes landed a series of blows to Rousey’s head during the fight, leading to the first-round knockout. Which I’m pretty sure humbled her a little. *shrugs* My opinion…
Rousey also suffered a head injury when Holm landed a kick to the head in the second round at UFC 193. She was given a 180 day medical suspension after the first loss, and spent more than a year away from the octagon while recovering from physical and personal hardship as she contemplated retirement.
Rousey, 29, has not said whether UFC 207 will serve as her final fight.
