Mariners Scouting Phillies’ OF Marlon Byrd


(MLB) Although the Phils are in last place, Bryd hasn’t disappointed as he’s posting a .261/.313/.481 batting line with 15 home runs and 52 RBI’s through 91 games this season.

Marlon Byrd is earning $8 million this season and has another $8 million set for 2015 as part as his two year contract with the Phillies which he signed this past off-season. The deal also includes a vesting option for 2016 worth $8 million if he has 600 or 550 plate appearances in 2015 and a total of 1100 plate appearances in 2014 and 2015. Also if the option does not vest, it becomes a team option.
