(NYC Sports Talk) Other than me, who knew that the Jets was bound to give QB Mark Sanchez his walking papers???
According to RotoWorld, the Jets attempted to trade Sanchez for a late-round pick and considered keeping him on a revised deal, but this was the expected move all along. By releasing Sanchez, the Jets create $8.3 million in cap savings and avoid paying his $2 million roster bonus. The Texans are expected to show interest in Sanchez as a veteran stopgap, but he’s likely ticketed for a backup job coming off two turnover-prone seasons. Sanchez is five months removed from shoulder surgery and expected to be ready for training camp.
The NY Jets have announced that Mike Vick has signed the team. To a one-year deal. Which only means there’s a great chance that Vick will on the market in 2015.
Coach Rex Ryan’s job arguably hinges on Vick or Smith getting the team to the playoffs in 2014. He wouldn’t be going to New York if he didn’t think he’ll get chance to play. Vick believes better than Smith.
